10 Claude Code Plugins Worth Installing: Design, Review, Hooks and More

Ten Claude Code plugins that add design guidance, GitHub context, multi-agent code review, structured workflows, hook rules, config backup and code cleanup, with install commands.

Ask an AI for help and you often get a good answer, with a pile of steps still left for you. Plugins can close part of that gap. Plenty of interesting ones exist, from tools that organize saved reading to ones for travel and creative projects. Here are ten for Claude Code that are worth a look, each with the command that installs it.

ui-ux-pro-max

If asking an AI to "make it look better" keeps producing a site that feels slightly off, this plugin gives the assistant actual design guidance. It covers choosing colors, pairing fonts and composing layouts that suit the project, and it adds guidelines for accessibility and responsive design, so looks on your laptop aren't the only consideration. It's handy for landing pages, dashboards or a side project you've been meaning to polish. You get less guessing and a better shot at something that really looks nice.

GitHub

Too many GitHub tabs open, and still no idea what the code does? The GitHub plugin connects the assistant to your repositories, so it can help you explore code, understand pull requests and catch up on issues without you pasting everything into the chat. It's useful when you join a new project or pick up work you haven't touched for weeks, with less clicking around and a faster return to flow.

code-review

A pull request can look fine when you write it and leave you wondering later what you missed. The Code Review plugin takes a second pass, using several agents to check the changes for potential bugs and for violations of your project's CLAUDE.md guidelines. It's good to run before handing work to a teammate, particularly after staring at the same code so long that everything looks normal.

/plugin install code-review@claude-plugins-official

superpowers

Sometimes Claude starts writing code before you've finished explaining what you want. Superpowers adds structure to that. It walks the assistant through discussing the idea, drafting a plan, writing tests, implementing the changes and reviewing the work.

hookify

Having to say "please stop doing that" in every coding session gets old. Hookify turns each of those reminders into a rule. You say what behavior should be caught, and hooks are generated that either warn about or block it. The rules live in plain Markdown files, so they're easy to inspect and tweak. Typical uses are stray debug statements or specific commands you want flagged. Write the reminders once and let the hooks do part of the nagging.

Overnight Dev

It's time to stop for the day, but the coding task still needs a few rounds of fixing. Overnight Dev is built for longer sessions. Git hooks run your configured tests, linting and coverage checks before commits are allowed, and any failure gives Claude feedback to work through as it keeps going.

Once it's installed, configure it inside your project:

Claudebase

New laptop, clean setup, and every small Claude customization is missing. Claudebase spares you the rebuild. Through a private GitHub repository it stores your Claude Code configuration and brings it back on demand, using named profiles to keep setups separate. It's useful if you work across several machines or want your work setup separate from a personal one. Agents, skills and rules took effort to assemble, so being able to carry them along makes moving far less irritating.

Compound Engineering

You finally squash an irritating bug, and weeks later something similar appears and you're searching old conversations for how you fixed it. Compound Engineering aims to turn such lessons into reusable project knowledge. It combines planning, implementation and review with an extra step for documenting what you learned. It fits projects you keep returning to, because each round of work can leave guidance for the next and you spend less time re-explaining discoveries.

Anthropic Skills

Claude can be asked for much more than code: a spreadsheet to build, a presentation to draft, a messy PDF to sort. Anthropic Skills packages reusable instructions and supporting tools for those different kinds of work. Document handling is part of the collection, next to skills for design, web testing and other jobs. That's handy when your tasks don't fit in one category. Pick the document bundle, the examples collection, or install both.

Code Simplifier

The feature works, yet the code reads like a knot of tangled earphones. Code Simplifier cleans that up, aiming to make code clearer, more consistent and easier to maintain while keeping its behavior intact. Recently changed code gets the most attention, so it suits the end of a busy implementation session. Run it as a last pass whenever the logic has grown more tangled than the problem deserves, so future you opens something nicer.
